Lab Prepper: how a clinic saved 5 to 10 hours a week

Seaside Family Wellness, a primary care clinic in Port St. Lucie, Florida, had staff looking up lab requirements by hand before every blood draw. We built them an app that does it in seconds.

The problem

Every lab order lists tests by code. For each code, staff had to look up which tubes to draw, how much, and what has to stay cold. A busy morning meant dozens of lookups, and a missed detail meant calling a patient back for a second stick.

What we built

Lab Prepper reads the test codes from an order and lists exactly which tubes to pull, how many of each, and what needs special handling. It combines tests into fewer tubes where the lab allows it.

  • Paste or snap the order, get the draw plan
  • Checks the lab’s test directory every morning and flags changes
  • Installs on phones and desktops like a regular app
  • Patient details stay on the screen and are never sent anywhere
  • Grew into staff accounts, schedules, checklists and manuals as the team asked

What changed

The lookups are gone. Four of the six people in the office use it, and the clinic gets back 5 to 10 hours of staff time every week.

Could your business use one?

If someone on your team does the same lookup, copy and paste or group text every day, a small app can probably do it for them. Tell us what it is.

Questions

Do you only build apps for clinics?

No. Lab Prepper is one example. The same approach works for any business with repetitive daily work.

How long does an app take?

It depends on the job. Tell us the problem and we’ll reply with a plan and an estimate.

Ready when you are

A few quick questions. Nothing is made or charged until you approve it.
